Audio Desk for macOS · Last updated August 19, 2026
Audio Desk displays the currently playing track from Apple Music or Spotify as a desktop widget. To do this, it reads now-playing information (track name, artist, album art, and playback position) directly from those apps on your own Mac, using Apple's standard scripting interfaces.
Any preferences you set (widget style, size, position, colors) are stored locally on your Mac using standard macOS application preferences (UserDefaults). This data never leaves your device.
When available, album artwork is retrieved directly from the music app you're using (Apple Music or Spotify) or from Apple's public artwork lookup, solely to display it in the widget. This artwork is not stored or transmitted anywhere beyond your own screen.
Audio Desk does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect data at all.
